GRIEVANCES AND ARBITRATION

Depending on a collective bargaining agreement or your handbook, you may be required to follow a "Grievance Procedure" to resolve issues raised by either an Employee or a Union.

While the issues can be resolved early on in the grievance process, the Grievance Procedure is often utilized to pressure an Employer into altering its established practices to the detriment of the Employer and Employees.

Arbitration provides the parties with a procedure or procedures for a binding resolution of their disputes when they arise over the applications, interpretation, or (alleged) violation of the terms and conditions of employment contained in the collective agreement during its term.

We guide employers through the processing of grievances - up to and including arbitration.
